Important stuff! And.. Oh everything else...

I know my blogs have been very quiet lately but that's mainly because I have accepted a new job offer at Lend Lease as a Graduate Software Developer. I will start on the 7th of December (w00t) and uh yes it should be quite exciting working in the city!

Otherwise I have been doing many stuffs lately on the weekends, all of which I'm too tired to list here... bah! I can hear you all calling me fat. OK OK It's true.... but eh I have an excuse at least..... well not really.

Hmm quick recap on what I've been up to lately... I have been to visit rex lots! I went to the city a few times to check out Lend Lease, to be interviews and to pick up paperwork (phew that was a bad day.... stomach cramps and headaches aren't a good mix with city traffic!!)... I went to see Sydney FC play Perth in Soccer (never been to a half-real match before... it was quite exciting...)... went with CM's family so it was a bit of a family night. Also had a very strange sticky rice desert which seemed to be more red bean than anything else (??). Also missed out on going to some Birthday party because I forgot to bring my street directory, and because the person wouldn't pick up their phone AND cynthia had no idea where it was anyways! (well, where this particular street was). So there goes that event. And it was even a pyjama party...

Paragraphs are good (sometimes).

Hmm what else... we also bummed around watching DVDs for a bit and I watched a new ep of Top Gear on cable! Fwoa it was good. And they all said the 911 was the best... I'm sure they would never agree on that... so it was a bit weird. I think even Jeremy was swaying towards it a little... and he hates the 30+ year old car!

Hmm I also spent much of last Friday sleeping since I was feeling so ill... barely ate any food that night. But I did manage some icecream and ice magic.. woo for that! Also watched Zoolander which was totally crazy and very... well... rough compared to the remake of Starsky and Hutch. (Which I think, incidently, is a heaps better movie). Still, it was silly enough and funny so that was good.

Managed to do a bit of window shopping, but didn't really find anything I was reallly interested in. I need some new shoes for this new job but eh... Couldn't find any that I liked the look of AND had stock of in my size. Oh well, next time. I could've had a look for shirts too but I was too tired by then...

Hmm yes jumping all over the place, Aussie stadium was pretty good, everyone clapping when the players did some cool move which was nice. Nil-all score in the end which was a bit of a disappointment... they could've achieved that without evening running or moving the ball from the centre of the field, oh well.

Crap! I almost deleted this blog just then. Hmm I will continue. Thank God for CTRL+Z.

Also in my week since then I have been spending lots of money... whoops... I bought a whole pile of new comp parts to make my computer run games again. I was a bit disappointed in the whole lack of AGP cards these days, and I needed a new motherboard because this thing has damn blown caps (Doesn't everything these days??). So yes I hopped online and bought this stack of crud:

- Athlon64 3000+ (was 2nd hand, is supposed to be a good overclocker)
- DFI nForce4 Ultra mobo.. looks the goods
- 2GB of CL2 RAM (overkill? but it will run sweet-as!)
- Geforce 6600GT 256MB video card PCIe
- Some fancy silent cooler... should be interesting. Something about being "Arctic". Funny names these coolers have these days...

So yes I will have to put all of that together and it shall be quite interesting to get up and running I think. And fast! Wheee..

Hmm I think I have completely missed a whole weekend in there... but I think it was after that VERY VERY BAD FRIDAY (involving data loss!! "Don't push the delete key" Says Craig). So hmm maybe I can remember what happened then... or maybe I can't.

Tonight I hooked up the record player in the shed to the new amp... goes quite nicely I must say. My little preamp works a treat... although I will seperate the powersupply and the audio electronics one day to reduce noise. One day! I've also started to plan what I need for the final speaker in the shed - the centre. It's a bit of a challenge getting the kind of capability to match the others, yet keeping the whole size of the speaker small... so it can fit above the screen. Quite fun, nevertheless.

Yes that will do for now.

Oh wait. On the weekend I missed I came back from CM's on a Saturday (very strange I know!) after dropping her off at work... then I came HOME... whoa! Mum was shocked. Went off to Steve's for a cool BBQ with Lachlan, Katie, Mike, Toohey and a bunch of other people I don't really know. Nice to hear he's finally quit Pizza Slut and has also quiet from another job. Steve that is. Whatever will he do next?

Hmm yes so on Sunday I then went to Geoff & Enid's to install their ADSL... which was very simple since they use the same hardware we sell at work. All went well... until the other day when it broke. Oh well, at least THEY CAN GET ADSL! Now the router is "negotiating" forever, and can't get a signal. "We Get Signal" is all I can think of.... But yes, after much peace talking with Telstra, the modem still can't connect. Yet it works elsewhere.... so I blame the phoneline. Or something. Hopefully it'll all get fixed soon enough.

Anyways I think my boss took me leaving OK... i was a bit worried since he relies on me for quite a bit of things... so I will be spending the next few days teaching him how I do things, so if things go wrong.... he can at least have a bash at fixing it....

That is quite enough methinks. Tomorrow night I will finally return Ben's comp... after months of gathering dust here. Whoops. Oh well, at least it is all fixed. I will also be going to see the Presets (Woot!) and Paul Mac at the Metro with my bro and Bec. So that should be interesting. I hope the comp parts come in so I can build the system!!!!

Wow that was a pretty good summary I think. Although it will probably be rather confusing.... so it might take a few reads and a bit of www.131500.info to figure out where you are up to.
