Ahh well tomorrow is a big day for me - new job! Yes that's right, I start at Lend Lease tomorrow as a Developer (in Hyperion, Visual Basic, Excel and Oracle, amoung other things). Fwoa! 9am start so that means I'll be getting up quite early since the job is in the city...
Also in other news, my website was down for a few days last week (Grrr)... turns out it was shut down because I didn't pay the bill... ooops! hehe. Ahh well. They were sending me reminders to my UTS IT email account, which of course doesn't work any more. I changed all of my domain WHOIS to point to my Dextralog email (which I'll be keeping for now) but their billing system (My host, Tera-byte) doesn't look at that info. gah! All fixed now as you can see.
On the weekend I also had a LAN... wow. Despite sleeping through half of it (eh no way I was going to feel tired on Saturday!!!) it was much fun. We had attending: Myself (uh), Mike, Ryan, Steve + other half, Lachlan + other half, Ben, Boyter and Toohey. Wow... 10... didn't know there was that many. Hope I didn't forget anyone!!
Naturally we got bored of most games and headed back to good old CS for much of the LAN... damn that game is so addictive, even though it is quite old now.
Haven't got a great deal to report from the LAN except the moment of the night was when Ryan asked for a Windows 98 CD and everybody laughed and told him to "install xp" because that is the fix for anything. Ryan of course asks "will the xp cd have the windows 98 files on it?" but hey... that's not the point now is it?? Lachlan was also found struggling to carry his monitor into the shed... which is certainly not a LAN-approved monitor. I was a bit offended at Boyter's remarks about my speakers but I didn't feel like playing his favourite song ("Fever") to calm him down. Sorry. That's about it for now... except everyone needs to improve their LFS skills because all of you suck :P
Also on Sunday I went to Dover Heights for a bit of a wander around with CM. Took lots of nice photos (I think I should post them up, along with the last year of photos which I have been very lazy about and haven't uploaded them....... oops). Found this awesome house which was "futuristic" in design... quite nice. All silver and glass walls... lots of cutains... yes ok a photo will help. Later! The plan was to walk from Bronte to Bondi or the reverse, but the beaches were so packed we couldn't even get parking a few km close to the beach. So we gave up and discovered the most beautiful view of the harbour instead! It was quite good (saw this damn fat beagle too... must be twice the weight of my grandmother's already fat beagle) and it was quiet.... which was quite a difference from Bondi, where you couldn't see the sand from all the maddening crowds.
Hmm ahh yes. Stayed around CM's until late (oops) then drove home and woke up sooo tired on Monday morning.. Ahh well. Tested out the new M7 (is it even open yet?) but I think just a small section is being used because the old road has been completely removed... this is near the steel mill at Rooty Hill. Ah well that was exciting. It doesn't officially open until the 16th of December or so... so I don't think I'm up for a toll. I hope! The blue lights on the toll booth were pretty though...
Anyways I'm thinking of actually doing work on my big secret project (which lots of ppl know about anyways). Shock! But it'll never happen :D ahh.
Yes that'll do for now to keep my very small audience up to date... it seems nobody reads this rarely updated site anymore... well I guess that makes sense.
