Kiama + Saddleback Mtn + Lounge

Hi All. Yes it's me again. Just wanted to report it is late at night, I've finished cooking my mince and I'm almost ready for bed. In the meantime... this is what I have been up to.

I took Monday and Tuesday off this week for a bit of R&R, and it turned out to be a bit of an eventful time. The weekend was pretty normal with me staying at the Ma's place and Rex spending a bit of time at my place on Friday night. On Sunday it was a fantastic day of lazing in the sun in my apartment (out of the wind!) and eating Hannah's pies (they are pretty good). Anyways, that's to say the weekend was pretty normal. And... it was good not to have to go to work on Monday (makes the Sunday even nicer).

Anyhoos, I had planned on going to Kiama on Monday so that's what Rex and I did. Checked out the blow hole, had some fish and chips, and had a bit of wander around town. Good old being tourists n all. I bet we stuck out.. heh.. ah well. It was pretty good, although the day was quite calm (so the blow hole didn't do a whole lot of blowing.. eh... catch the pun). There was a mega pile of tourists there who had obviously been dumped off some tour bus and were snapping away on their cameras.

Afterwards we went for a bit of a drive around to try and find this 360 degree lookout on top of Saddleback Mountain. After a bit of driving around we found it up some steeeep road (was quite a good drive I must say). Anyways the view isn't exactly 360 degrees at one time, but I did take some nice shots looking northwards towards the Gong and also up to Sydney. It's amazing how much the land drops off there.

I guess I should upload those photos some time... It's a little easier now that nisch.org is in my cupboard..

Moving right along, and after picking up Rex's bro from the airport (not a terribly exciting event) there wasn't really much left of Monday to talk about... Oh except we had salmon for dinner! Hah! But it was quite nice...

Today I went with Rex on a home/house/wares etc. hunt in Newtown and Bondi - although we never made it to Bondi... After finally deciding on a lounge (2m or so, 150mm armrests, dark brown coloured fabric, Dunlop Enduro fabric, wooden feet) from this shop in Newtown (King Style Furniture *cough* shameless plug) we eventually moved a bit further down King St for lunch. Got a $6 red curry chicken from this Thai place (hey, it is NEWTOWN, after all..) and that was quite tasty. I got a phone call from my parents who are home sick to help rescue their hot water system, which got frozen overnight (since the weather in Sydney at the moment is crazy and cold). So instead of going to Bondi, I dropped Rex off at home and headed off to the "farm". So much driving in 2 days! And so much for a holiday...

Anyways, it was good to be back at the farm again, although my parents are quite sick and I had to drive them to the doctor's. A bit of rest and some anti-biotics and they should be OK in a few days... damn flu!

So anyways, the reason for my late-night cooking spurt (apart from it being a habit of mine) is because they had some mince thawed which needed cooking... eh that's easy at midnight!!

Ok time for bed now. That'll do for now. Back to work tomorrow... should be busy I think, I've got a few emails to deal with...
