New(ish) Car

Yes alright due to the pressure of one fairly fat man (Boyter), I will blog about my new car. Oh yes I said fairly fat because he declares he has no time to work on da scene but not completely fat because I suppose he does update his blog at some stage.

After spending an awful lot of time searching for this particular car (and using such resources as Aussie Frogs and Oz RenaultSport I finally decided to leave behind the McHardy-Peugeot family tradition and shift to a new brand. People say I will be written out of the family, but I say - at least it's still French!! (Citroen wouldn't do btw being a part of PSA group which contains Peugeot, Citroen and has also gobbled up several other companies in the history of time).

Right! So... a picture...

For those not in the know, it is a 2005 French Racing Blue RenaultSport Clio Cup 182 (without the dodgy F1 racing stripes). My first car with mag wheels - lets hope I can avoid scratching them... *rolls eyes*

So there ya go. I drove it out to my parents place and it does drive pretty nicely. I filled the tank right up and then cruised all the way and managed 5.7L/100km which is pretty nice if you asked me. I then attempted to find the VVT 'boost' @ 5500rpm and quickly changed the average fuel consumption to 5.9L/100km by stomping on the loud pedal. It drives like a bit of an animal (6) when pushed hard but it doesn't make any stupid hoon noises.

Oh yes, and it is rough as all hell driving down my parent's driveway for those who know what that is like!

No plans for any mods as I do like to keep things stock - plus, in any case, mods cost money :S.

So... this means I need to sell my old car. Anyone want a 171,000km '97 model silver Peugeot 306 XR Sedan - I'll do a special deal for ya... I have pretty much finished cleaning it all and it does look quite nice now, so it is a bit depressing that I have to part with it at some stage.
